Carl William Pizzimenti, age 54 of Clarkston, died Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born August 11, 1959 in Grosse Pointe Farms, the son of Vincent J. Pizzimenti and the late Sharon (nee:Cronenworth) Pizzimenti.Throughout most of his career life, Carl worked in Food Services bringing his own unique brand of service excellence in the restaurant business. With immense dedication and hard work, he extended the utmost in compassion when it came to training others to be the best they could be. Carl understood the importance of pleasing others and making them feel important in everyday life. He quickly moved up the "Food Chain",…starting at Joe's Crab Shack then heading over to Andiamo's Restaurant. His experience working at these restaurants landed him a job working for Bennigan's Restaurant in Clearlake, Iowa. He knew this was the job as a Restaurant Manager he had been waiting for to make his career a success. When he wasn't working, Carl often exercised his love of music by playing the guitar. He enjoyed soothing his soul through the music that came from within his heart. In his younger years, you could find Carl and his brother's playing in their own band called "Renagade." Football was also in Carl's blood as a teen. He played for Servit High School's football team. He often enjoyed the heated competition and rivalry that it brought him. As Carl grew older his love for music was still running through him. He played in the church band at Base Church in Waterford. Giving back to the Lord through music made Carl free that he was able to be at peace with God.Plain & simple, Carl just loved people. He loved to laugh, and found great delight in bringing laughter and joy to the lives of others. He always had a joke to share and his own style of lightheartedness to fill the room. He loved spending time with family and friends, and devoted his life to creating the wonderful memories those relationships were built on. He leaves behind a strong and loving legacy that will forever be remembered for the unique and genuine caregiver that he was, both inwardly and outwardly.Of all the traits that defined this man made him special, the term "Loving Father" states it the best. He was always there for his children, and that was easily his strongsuit. With integrity as deep and wide as an ocean, Carl's love meant everything and carried a "strength of character" that was unmatched. Drawing from his love of music, the world has lost a "Golden Oldie,"…but the memories of the personal music he made, in the life he led and the lives he touched, will live on in the hearts & souls he leaves behind.Carl was the loving father of Desiree, Stephanie, Ashley, and Vincent. Devoted grandfather of Jonathan. Beloved son of Vincent (Cheryl), and the late Sharon. The "Ultimate Big Brother" of Brian (Karin) Pizzimenti, William (Julie Lyn) Pizzimenti, and Julia (Alan) Modlinski. He is also survived by man's best friend,... his dog Bob.Visitation for Carl will be Sunday 3-9pm with an evening Eulogy Service at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren.
