Clara Betke

Clara Betke, age 98, a longtime resident of Warren, Michigan, died Tuesday April 7, 2020,  at the Shelby Crossings Assisted Living Facility in Shelby Township, Michigan.  Clara was born on August 18, 1921 in Gladwin, Michigan, the daughter of the late Julius Meister and the late Teophilia (nee: Redmond) Meister.

Clara grew up on a farm and possessed a strong faith in the Lord. She loved her family and was a mentor and true friend to many.  She was an avid seamstress and created beautiful clothing and home décor items.  She loved spending time with her friends hunting for "treasures" and giving them new life.  Those who knew Clara well, described her as "feisty," one who would speak her mind and stand up for herself and her family.  She will be missed by all and remembered by many.

Mrs. Betke was the beloved wife of the late Edwin Betke, and was also the dear mother of Jerry (Kathleen) Betke, Kenneth (Melanie) Betke, Beth Ann Betke, and the late Edwin Paul Betke. Further survivors include her cherished grandchildren, Julie (Scott) Krupp, Michael (Monica) Betke, Bree Betke, and great-grandmother of Haley Betke and Robert Betke.

Due to the current Pandemic situation a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.  

Memorial donations are appreciated in Mrs. Betke's name to the Peace Lutheran Church, 11071 Twelve Mile Road, Warren, Michigan 48093.
