Clara Theresa Dombkowski, age 81 of Warren, died Sunday, December 15, 2019 at home. She was born December 15, 1938 in Detroit, daughter of the late Aloizy and the late Sophie (nee: Gabryszewski) Dombkowski.
By day, Clara was a vital member of the team at the publishing company where she was employed. As a secretary and support staff liaison, Clara was part of the glue that held it all together and an adept representative of the firm. When she wasn’t working, Clara was comfortable just hangin’ at home, enjoying the company of her sister and her precious poodle, Pierre. She was actually a loving Furr Mama to four different poodles, all of whom she affectionately named Pierre. Their warmth, furry coat, and loving nature made for the perfect companion.
Being a home-body also bode well in aiding Clara in one of her favorite pastimes of crafting. Beneath the surface existed the heart and soul of an artist, and her unique flair was seen in many of the pieces that her crafting hands produced.
But of all the aspects of Clara’s life that many will reflect upon joyously, it was her devotion and support for her favorite Boys of Summer, the Detroit Tigers, that will certainly reign supreme. When it came to her titans of baseball, clad in their jerseys with that iconic Old English “D” on their chest, nobody could hold a candle to this lifetime fan. When a game was being played, Clara was right there catching all of the action,…be it in person, on television,…or, if need be, on her trusty transistor radio. There was no chance that Clara was going to miss the action, and that fact was never more telling than seeing the radio in her hand and the tell-tale cord coming from her ears. If there had been a prize for the most devout Tigers fan, Clara would have walked away with it,…hands down!
A loving daughter, sister and friend to many, Clara touched a multitude of hearts and souls in her journey this side of Heaven. She leaves many wonderful memories behind of times and moments spent with those she loved, memories to be embraced by all who were blessed to know and share in Clara’s life. She will be missed immensely.
Beloved daughter of Aloizy & Sophie Dombkowski, and loving sister of Elsie Dombkowski.
