Clara I. Michell

Clara I. Michell, age 89, of Clinton Township, formerly of Marion, died Saturday, June 18, 2011 She was born February 25, 1922 in Marion, Michigan the daughter of the late Albert and the late Ida (nee: Phelps) Martinson. Clara worked for the Rationing Board during WWII. She would later marry her husband whom she met when she was at the young age of 5. They were married in 1946 and until Leo's passing in 2005 were married for 59 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Clara was a very family oriented person. She very much enjoyed spending time with her family and close loved ones. Clara enjoyed crafts, drawing, sewing, and crocheting. She also had a "green thumb", and anyone that knew her knew that she had the greatest luck with growing Africian Violets! She also enjoyed cooking and baking. She was always up for experimenting with different recipes. Clara is survived by her daughters, Lori (Jim) Mehlhorn, Mary (Grant) Pickard, and Lorraine (Gene) Kelty; grandchildren, Michele, Mark (Renee), Michael, James, and Kevin; great grandchildren, Landon and Ava; and siblings, Myrtle Joslyn, Alfred (Ellen) Martinson, Iva (Dick) North, and Albert Martinson Jr. She is predeceased by her husband, Leo Michell. Visitation for Mrs. Michell will be held Tuesday 5-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Road). Additional will be held on Friday 10:00 am until the time of her Funeral Service at 12:00 pm at Fosnaught-Holdship Funeral Home in Marion, Michigan (406 East Main Street, Marion). Officiating the Services will be Pastor Paulette Zoulek. Interment will follow at Middle Branch Township Cemetery in Marion. Memorial contributions may be made to Autism Speaks.
