I recently learned of Danny's passing through his sister, Cindy. Needless to say, I am saddened to receive this news. More than anything, I am sorry that we lost contact. Danny and Cindy are my son's godparents. I have many memories of Danny, but the one that I will always cherish is his graduation party. I got him a "Superman" t-shirt and told him he would always be MY SUPERMAN. He turned out to be a superman to many. Rest in peace, Danny. We are truly blessed to have had you in our lives, even if it was just for a moment. Love always... ~Gina

Many years ago when we were younger, Dan was a good friend of ours. We just loved him. He used to stop by often when our kids were young. We will miss him and we could not have known a more wonderful and truly great guy. I'm willing to bet anyone who ever was lucky enough to have met Dan felt the same. How we met him was he worked with Kerry at Lunar Ind. many many years back. Our regret is he disappeared out of our lives after he married, but he always remained in out hearts.We are so so very sorry to hear of his passing. We all lost an awesome guy. He will forever be missed.

Daniel Joseph Giacona May 28, 1961-December 20, 2012 Age 51 Third Born to Lou & Pat one of 4 Children. Cindy, Kathy. Dan and Mandy
He was born on the 1st birthday of his sister Kathy His dad was so happy when the doctor told him that it was a boy that he physically picked him up off the floor and carried him all the way back down the hall to the delivery room. Little did we realize that a âsaintâ was born to the world on that day. Who could have guessed what a great person Dan would grow up to be?
He always observed everything his dad did and he paid close attention to detail. While his parents were up north, at a very young age Dan and Kathy used a power table saw to continue to panel our laundry room. His dad always included him in projects like using a router tool to trim a Formica counter top. There were too many learning projects to mention here, but he always did things better then dad and to perfection. Dad and Dan walked up Groesbeck, shop after shop looking for someone who would grant him an apprenticeship. Dan learned very well and achieved not only Die Making but Tool and Diemaker and surpassed his dadâs Diemaker status. He was becoming his own man at this point. He also achieved a college degree as did each of his sisters.
He grew to be 6â4â tall and a giant of a man in every respect. Everything he did had to be big, large and perfect and there was no in between. He lived near his sister Cindy in a detached condo. He loved being on the Condo association board and made it his business to help everyone in the 49 unit sub. He was caring and generous with his time and loved everyone. Dan always knew where to come when he needed help and knew he would get that help when he needed it from his family. And He always got it. He was âOur Danny Boyâ as a young man and grew up to be âDan the Manâ. He was true to the family and religious values he learned as a youngster. He grew up with all Family values that he had learned and became his own man knowing right from wrong and became a man that would not be changed. His attention to every detail with regard to every aspect of his life was exceptional. Mom and Dadâs last gift to him was that while he was still living was to make sure that he received the last rights, the sacrament of Extreme Unction.
He loved all children and animals, especially his nieces and nephew. Dan is the first of 25 first cousins to pass away. His most important wish would be for peace, trust and unity within our family. He adored his Mother and Sisters and knew that he had the best ones ever. I thank you Dan for the many tools and scanner/copier and laser tools that you gave me.
They were too numerous to mention. Thank you for being our son âJob Well Done Danâ.

He introduced himself following a homeowner's presentation at a Planning Commission hearing. He was holding a sheaf of handwritten notes and I began to understand that he had spent some considerable time combing through public records prior to the meeting to track down years of previous property deeds behind the issues being contested. More remarkably, Dan Giacona was not a local property owner and his only vested interest in the matter was his desire to buy into the City Center Estates Association. Over the years since then, he has become a neighbor and friend to all. Dan was always on-call to fix a drippy faucet or rehang a picture. I once called to see if I could stop by to borrow a special wrench. He said he'd check his tool box and call back, but moments later he rang our doorbell with wrench in hand. On his own initiative he checked with the fire department before sanding and repainting all of the hydrants on the association's property. Once he reported a slow draining storm sewer to the city and was on-hand with property engineering drawings when DPW workers arrived to clean them. Even before he was elected to the Condominium Board of Directors, he would slowly drive our roads before and after work each day and would often return on foot with a shovel or broom to restore something that was out of place. He was the first to greet a new neighbor and the last to leave after cleaning up from a community gathering. He would dependably stop to ask if someone needed help with a yard project or just roll-down the window to say hello. He knew if someone was sick or incapacitated, and in his unassuming quiet manner, he would encourage all of us to extend assistance or support. We will miss Daniel Joseph Giacona for the loving, caring spirit he brought to our neighborhood and the Golden Rule he personified for all of us.

Dan was a great neighbor. Many times I saw him walk around the City Center Estates complex and help a fellow neighbor out. He will certainly be missed in our community

Dan was my friend. He was always a gentleman and just fun to be around. He went out of his way to help his friends. A true man among men. He said what he meant and meant what he said. A highly skilled tool and die maker, there wasn't anything mechanical he couldn't fix or improve. You couldn't help but love Dan, there wasn't a mean bone in his body. I miss him sorely, but am glad I had the opportunity to know him. Rest in peace Dan. The world was made a better place just because you were here.

My big brother was a gentle giant. It's true he towered over me at 6'5" but he was always lifting me up with his kindness and generosity, watching out for me, and making sure I was okay. He was a huge blessing in my life. I was very close to Dan and I don't think I could have loved him more. There aren't enough words to say about how loving he was to me but multiply that when it came to my children (and my nieces). He just loved them so much and would always say "Give the kids a hug and a squeeze for me" when we hung up the phone. He would also always tell me that he loved me.
I love you Dan. You were taken too soon! I know you are receiving all the love you deserved in Heaven with Jesus.
If you were lucky enough to know my brother, please take a moment to do something kind for someone else in his memory.
