Dan, born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, carried the spirit and pride of his hometown with him throughout his life, even after moving to Fraser with his family. A talented chef by trade, Dan brought passion and creativity to every kitchen he worked in—whether at bustling restaurants or while serving residents at a retirement home. Beyond his profession, Dan was a devoted son who cared for his father for many years with unwavering love and dedication. Above all, Dan believed his greatest achievement in life was the birth of his daughter, Mya. He thought she was perfection and couldn't be prouder.
Dan had a wide range of interests and a personality all his own. He was a lifelong fan of wrestling and found joy in bowling, exploring the outdoors, and honing his survival skills. He enjoyed researching niche topics, playing video games, and engaging in independent hobbies that reflected his curiosity and self-reliance.
Never one to go unnoticed, Dan had a signature style—often seen in a sharp, matching tracksuit and a fresh pair of shoes. He was authentic, grounded, and proud of who he was. Dan’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever remember his strength, independence, and the quiet ways he showed he cared.
Dan was the beloved father of Mya Kozicki. Loving son of Mary (Bob) Pearson and the late Dennis Kozicki. Dear brother of Samantha Pearson and the late David Kozicki. Special 'fur-dad' of Baby the cat. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Memorial Visitation for Dan will be held on Wednesday, July 30th from 4-8pm with a Memorial Service at 7pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road, Warren, MI.
