David is survived by the love of his life, Sharyl (Nee Jones) Diegel, and together they celebrated 58 years of marriage together. He is the devoted father of Craig (Diana) and Colleen (Keith) Wisinski, the loving grandfather to Alexander (Rachael), Allyson, Sean and Ayden, as well as the caring great grandfather to Quinton, Lydia, Nikolai and Vincent. Beloved brother-in-law, uncle, friend and confidant to many.
He worked as a carpet installer for J.L. Hudson Company/ Marshall Fields for over 40 years. He served the Marine Corp. and was faithfully involved in the church. He enjoyed traveling, camping, spending time with family and friends. Besides being the best "Papa", he loved to spend time with his Sunday School group.
David was always quick with a joke or witty comment to keep us all laughing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Margaret (nee Huggins) Diegel, siblings Betty Jane, Donald (Jean), Clayton (Christine) and June (Ray).
For those who wish to make a contribution in David's honor, memorials may be given to Cornerstone Baptist Church in Roseville http://cbcroseville.org/give-2/ or American Cancer Society https://donate3.cancer.org/
The family of David wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and staff of Troy Beaumont and Henry Ford Macomb Hospitals for the excellent care and attention they provided.
