

David Arthur Powers age 43 a resident of Oxford and formerly of Macomb and Warren died Tuesday February 25, 2014 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak Michigan. David was born August 15, 1970 in Warren Michigan the son Arthur and the late Dolores Powers.David was raised in Warren and graduated from Warren Woods Tower High School the class of 1988. Following high school David attended Macomb Community College studying business and worked for General Polymers. David also worked for Bavarian Village Ski Shop in Mount Clemens, selling the skis that he loved and enjoyed. David was a gifted salesman and eventually found his niche selling automobiles. He worked for various auto dealerships and used car lots over the years. David had a passion for speed and anything with a motor... he especially loved the Chevrolet Corvette.When David was not working he enjoyed just about any activity outdoors and also on or around water. David was an avid water skier, jet skier, boater, and dirt biker. Whether riding or watching David had a "Need for Speed". He loved watching NASCAR and his favorite driver Jeff Gordon. He even had his favorite speed movie "Cannon Ball Run", of which he could watch over and over.In addition to his speed hobbies, David was a fanatic and a wealth of information when it came to Billy the Kid. He kept a photo of Billy in his room, and always watched every History Channel episodes of the Kid. However when it came to truly bragging... it was all about his boys and the boys activities and sports. David cherished his time dirt biking with his sons, or attending the sporting, baseball, or cross country running events.David Powers is the loving husband of Karen, and cherished father of Brandon and Justin. He was the beloved son of Arthur and the late Dolores Powers. Dear brother of Michelle (Karl) Schneider and the late Sharon Olejniczak. David was the son in-law of Sharon Payne-Hatfield, and brother in-law of Keith Olejniczak, Terry (Ann Marie) Payne, and Michelle (John) Behm. Visitation for David will be Monday March 3, 2014 from 3-9pm with a 7pm Rosary Service at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road). Mr. Powers will lie in state Tuesday March 4th 11:00 am, at St. Faustina Catholic Church 14025 E. Twelve Mile in Warren, until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:30 am. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Rev. Fr. Bogdan Milosz.
