David S. Smith, age 50 of Macomb Township, died Thursday, November 14, 2013. He was born on April 29, 1963 in Williamson, West Virginia, son of Lois J. (nee: Hinkle) and the late Billy R. Smith.David was employed in the field of construction where his expertise lie in the demolition realm. With a job that demanded activities of that sort, it was no surprise that David often sought the solitude and serenity of the outdoors. Getting back to nature and appreciating the beauty of the land is what he was all about. He truly defined the essence of an Outdoorsman. And it was there that he also enjoyed some of his favorite pastimes, many of which bore a sense of his sporting side. From his skills at Motocross biking, to his love of skiing and roller skating, each of his pleasure escapes provided the perfect outlet and venue for fun and entertainment.Yet, if you were to question his family and friends, one of David's passions was making the family crazy. He possessed a unique and entertaining sense of humor, and many times it was at his loved ones expense,…but always with that glint of love in his eye the whole time. And it was that "love of family" that meant the most to David. On his list of priorities, his precious children were forever at the top. Some of the most treasured memories they'll hold are the times they went bicycle riding with Dad,…he on the bike, and they in the cart being towed behind. And as that story was being shared, a loving chuckle filled the room when his son & daughter recalled the day that Dad took too sharp of a turn and the cart rolled over with them in it. No injuries,…except, perhaps, on the part of the driver.A loving father, son, brother and friend, David leaves us far too soon, but also leaves his own legacy of love to reflect upon each time God brings him to mind. He touched many lives along the way, and now becomes a guardian angel for all those who loved and cared for him. He will be missed immensely and loved eternally.David was the beloved father of Ashlyn and Shane. Dear son of Lois and the late Billy Smith. Loving brother of Troy, Mark, and the late Rose. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.A Memorial Visitation for David will be held on Saturday, November 23rd from 1:00 to 5:00pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. Please share memories of David at his memory book.
