David Oscar Waltermire, age 65 of Warren, died Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren. He was born November 25, 1953 in Detroit, son of the late Oscar Jay and the late Bellerine Florence (nee: Majeske) Waltermire.
Following high school David decided he wanted to enhance the education already under his belt, so he enrolled in a post EL-HI program which ultimately led to David receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Beaming with considerable pride and satisfaction in a job well done, David headed out to make his mark in the world and eventually accepted a position within the medical field. Serving as an electrical engineer for many years, David was an integral part in making his environment, and that of so many others, run like a swiss time clock.
Seeing as David’s work called upon such concerted expertise, many will attest that his two main outlets for getting’ away and chillin’ out were music and photography. We all share our own unique and genuine path when it comes to the music that soothes our soul, and for David it was unquestionable the sounds of the guitar. And not merely a fan of the iconic instrument, David often created his own music with the guitar that had his name on it. Yes,…playing the guitar was definitely the sweet release that David sought when his musical spirit came calling. As for his other favorite pastime, there are countless photographs out there that bear the truth of the special eye David possessed whenever his camera made an appearance. We can all take pictures, but it’s a select few who can truly capture the world and its artistry through the lens of a camera,…and David had that talent in spades. Many of the pictures David captured will live on and tell the story of the man with the golden eye.
Yet of all that filled David’s heart with joy and elation, nothing could match the love and care he possessed for his precious family and friends. Things come and go, but the best part of life is contained in the heart that feels and the mind that recalls those cherished memories created in the company of those we hold most dear,…and David leaves many to treasure the memories of which he will be a large part. He will be missed immensely and loved eternally.
David was the beloved son of the late Oscar & Bellerine Waltermire, and loving brother of the late Deborah Robinson.
He will be laid to rest at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Michigan.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd.) in Warren.
