

Dennis Day Blackwell Jr. of Roseville and formerly of Ferndale and Hazel Park Michigan died suddenly September 24th at his home in Roseville. Dennis was born August 22, 1962 in Detroit Michigan the son of Martha June (nee: Dettloff) and the late Dennis Day Blackwell Sr.Dennis was raised in Ferndale and Hazel Park and graduated high school from Hazel Park High. Following his schooling he went to work as a machinist with Bill Todd's Machine Shop in Troy where he worked for several years before his health forced retirement.When Dennis was not working he loved his time spent with his family, children, and grandchildren. Dennis never had any children of his own; however his fianc'e Ann's children and grandchildren became his that he cherished each day.In addition to his family, Dennis loved cars and tinkering on them. He had a passion for Hot Rods and at one time owned a 1972 Chevelle which he loved to show off on Gratiot and Woodward. When it was time for relaxation Dennis would either go camping with family and friends or drop a fishing line into the water to try his best at angling.Dennis was the beloved son of Martha and the late Dennis Blackwell. He is the loving Fianc' of Ann Schultz, and dearest brother of Don (Maria) Blackwell. He was the cherished stepfather of Teri VanSickle, Dave Schultz, and grandfather of Devin and Mason. Dennis is also survived by many loving family members and friends. Visitation for Dennis will be held Wednesday from 5-9pm at D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ' Mile). Funeral Services will be held Thursday 11:30am at the Funeral Home.Please share memories of Dennis at his guest book.
