Domenico Orsini

Domenico Orsini, age 91 of Sterling Heights, died Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the Sanctuary at the Abbey in Warren, Michigan. He was born June 17, 1923 in Guardia Piemontese, Italy, son of the late Raffaele and the late Maria (nee: Condino) Orsini.A native of Italy, Domenico loved his motherland and left a large part of his heart there upon emigrating to the United States of America. Yet this is where his new roots took hold, and where he poured the best part of himself into taking care of his fellow man. Perhaps not so common for his gender back in his day, Domenico chose a career where he could help restore the sick and ailing to better health as a nursing assistant with the Henry Ford Health System. After many years of dedicated and unselfish service, it was in 1986 that Domenico chose to retire and spend more time with his family.When he wasn't at work, you'd often find Domenico working with his hands on some kind of project. If he was wearing the hat as a handyman, the project may have been in the home repair or improvement arena. If it was coming more from his artistic side, then you'd probably find him nestled away expressing his drawing skills. Either way, Domenico's handiwork was derived from a very adept, creative, and talented man,...the kind of man who left an impact in many ways, and in many hearts, as well.Domenico was a simple man who enjoyed simple pleasures,...and simply cherished all that life had to hold. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he leaves a legacy of love that will forever be treasured, remembered and revered with each reflection shared. He will be missed immensely and loved eternally.Domenico was the beloved husband of Elisa. Dear father of Raffaele (Drita) Orsini, Anthony Orsini, and Frank Orsini. Loving grandfather of Frank Orsini Jr. Visitation for Domenico will be held on Thursday, May 14th from 3:00-9:00 pm, with a 7:00 pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren. He will lie in state on Friday from 10:00 am until time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 am at St. Malachy Catholic Church, 14115 Fourteen Mile Road in Sterling Heights.
