

Judge Don Binkowski was born in Detroit's Polish ghetto but raised in the old Village of Norris, later known as North Detroit. He moved to Warren, Michigan's 3rd largest city after he served in the Michigan CONstitutional CONvention. An attorney, Don became Mayor Pro-Tem; later retiring as a 37th District Court Judge. A former chairman of the Warren Historical Commission, Don donated his Michigan historical book collection to the Warren library as well as contributing to the Michigan Historical & Burton Historical Collections. Married to watercolorist Christina DeSano Swiatkowski Binkowski, he was the proud father of two daughters and a son. Don was a member of the Yellowstone Association, Sierra Club and Wilderness Society.
Don was the beloved husband of Christina DeSano Swiatkowski Binkowski. Loving father of Donna (Michael Allan) Binkowski, Beth Ann (Randy Elder) Binkowski, and Alex (Donna) Binkowski. Cherished grandfather of Robert Elder, Margaret Elder, Jennifer Elder, Mitchell Etzel, Emmet Binkowski, Anastasia Binkowski, and Shannon Binkowski. Adored great-grandfather of Seth Etzel. Dear brother of Sylvia Farnsworth. He was predeceased by his sisters Christine Galbraith and Patricia Duffney. Don is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
