Donna Ruth LaBadie

Donna spent most of her career as an administrative assistant for the East Detroit High School. She retired from her position at the school in 2012 after about 30 years of hard work. She started her second career as the assistant director of the Wee Love Daycare where she worked until 2020. She was dedicated to helping her community. She was a community service chaplain and crisis and trauma counselor where she helped mentor many young women throughout the years. As a devout Christian, she spent 25 years with the New Life Christian Church in St. Clair Shores. Family meant the world to her and she spoiled her kids and grandkids. Her husband William and her would go to any and all lakes in Michigan to fish together.

Donna is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years William LaBadie. Her children William (the late Kari) LaBadie II, Nikcola Oxendine, and Jessica Loftis. Her cherished grandchildren Naomi (Evan) Cavanaugh, Joseph Loftis, Drake (Miranda) Oxendine, Will Loftis, Matthew Loftis, Trever Adkins, Logan LaBadie, and Billy LaBadie. Treasured great grandchild of Zayne Oxendine-Washington, Aaliyah Webb-Oxendine, and Maia Oxendine. Her dear sister Peggy and Ronnie. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Dovie, Joyce, Ronald, Cindy, Janice, and Scott.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, from 2pm until 8pm, at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, in Warren. Instate will be held the following day, Saturday, February 3, from 9am until the time of the funeral service at 10am at the funeral home.
