Doreen DeCook Porter

She was born on November 24, 1951, in Detroit, Michigan, to Delphine and Girard DeCook. Doreen was a faithful servant of the Lord, a compassionate human, a loving mother, and a caring friend and family member. She lived her life with a deep sense of humility, gratitude, and respect for all of creation, and loved spending time in the great outdoors and camping with her family and friends.

She leaves behind her loving husband Stephen Porter, her daughter Andrea (Douglas) Austin, her son Christopher (Samantha)Dulics, her granddaughters Emma, Aubree, Caroline, Olivia, and Emilee, her siblings Kathleen Ducharme, David (Darleen) DeCook, and Paul (Debbie) DeCook and their families, and her step-children Jayme, Julie, and Jeff and their families.

Doreen's unwavering faith in the Lord allowed her to bring joy and happiness to the people around her. She was a kind, gentle soul, who always put others before herself. Her profound love for her family and friends was evident to all who knew her.

Doreen was preceded in death by her son Brian Dulics, and her parents Delphine and Girard DeCook.

A funeral service will be held at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, located at 32000 Schoenner Rd, Warren, MI 48088.

The family will receive friends and family at the viewing on Monday, May 22, 2023, from 4pm-8pm, with family hour at 3pm.

The service will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at 10am. Luncheon to follow.

Per Doreen's wishes to celebrate her life, the family request that guests wear their blue jeans.
