Peltier, Dorothy M. - Age 88 of Center Line, died Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Beaumont Hospital in Grosse Pointe. She was born on October 8, 1924 in Detroit, daughter of the late Raymond and the late Leocadia (nee: Szatkowski) Wieczynski.Along with the love she poured into her family, Dorothy also poured the best of herself into her work as the Assistant Director of Admitting at South Macomb Hospital in Warren. She was an integral part of the hospital's operations and responsible for the patient management of thousands. Among her many accomplishments, Dorothy was quite proud of admitting the first patient to the hospital in 1966. For over 26 years, she extended the utmost in dedicated and loyal service until her retirement in 1991. Dorothy's work ethics were the cornerstone of her employment, and she was truly the definition of a business professional. As an addendum to her work, she was also quite proud of her membership in the American Business Women's Association. When she wasn't working or attending to the needs of her family, Dorothy enjoyed a varied array of pastimes. One of her favorites was exercising her green thumb as she dabbled in the garden. She loved to dig her hands in the earthen soil and nurture the garden with much of the same TLC she extended to everything she cared about. Dorothy was also quite fond of dancing. When it came to "cutting-a-rug," she could kick her heels up with the best of them and trip the light fantastic with a passion. Then there was her love of music. It was the perfect medicine for any day, and the stuff that truly soothed her soul. Another of her favorite pastimes was found in the sport of bowling. Over the years, she had tamed those alley's quite well,...but it was really more about the entertainment and social engagement with friends that she took away from it all. Yet, perhaps, the greatest fun of all were the many hours of pleasure she experienced while boating. There was just something about being out on the water that filled her heart & soul with a tranquility that was unmatched by anything else,...and could also offer some extremely fun and entertaining moments as well.To those who knew Dorothy, or were somehow blessed by her touch, there's no question that the love she shared and the care she exuded was an emanation of her strong and devout faith in God. She lived to be an example of His goodness and mercy, and reached out to others in a ministry that was genuine and unique to her. Dorothy touched a multitude of hearts along life's way, and there's no doubt that the words "well done, my good and faithful servant" will be ringing in her ears. A loving wife, mother and friend, Dorothy leaves behind a legacy of love that will be a constant reminder to all who are blessed by the memories to follow. Her family and friends meant the world to her, and she enjoyed each and every moment they were blessed to enjoy together. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally.
