Douglas A. Scott

Douglas Allen Scott, age 71 of Mt. Clemens, died Saturday, October 16, 2010 at his home in Mt. Clemens. He was born on June 2, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of the late Aloysius Scott and the late Margie (nee:Smith) Scott. Doug worked for Chrysler for 9 years and then decided it was time to open his own business. He opened his own gas station that he managed and ran for 14 years at 15 Mile Road and Utica called Gulf Gas. Doug was an active member of the Masons and Shriners organizations for several years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends while hosting or going to various gatherings throughout the year. One of his other past times was having card parties with his friends, Big Jim and his wife. They would gather together and play Pinochle till wee hours in the morning. The two families became such good friends that they said they will play cards foreverthey even bought cemetery plots next to each other. Many of Douglas friends would say that he had the best sense of humor and he was truly loved by all. Beloved husband of Donna. Loving father of Edward (Maryann), Joseph (Denise), Michelle (David) Beltz, Walter (Lucia), David, Donna Novak, and Dawn (Zano) Gray. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 3-9 pm. at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 Mile Road).
