

Dusan Danny Popov, age 69 of Warren, died Friday, May 23, 2008 at his home. Danny was born March 29, 1939 in Kikinda, Yugoslavia, the son of the late Tihomir Popov and the late Obrenka (nee: Markov) Popov. He is survived by his loving daughter Elisabeth (Brian) Scott, and his grandchildren Daniel Scott (grandson), Jessica Scott (granddaughter).He was preceded in death by his father Tihomir Popov, his mother Obrenka Markov, and his brother Leo Popov. Mr. Popov was raised in Kikinda, and was a very talented soccer player who grew up on his families very large farm. He came to the United States in the early 1960s to play soccer in Connecticut and eventually was recruited to play for a local Detroit soccer club. His early training on the farm was for the animals care and health, however once he moved to Detroit he became a journeyman tool and die maker. Danny retired from Chryslers Sterling Stamping plant and was a member of the U.A.W. Local 1264. Danny was a tender hearted man who loved animals especially his cherished dog Crystal. His passion in life was Soccer; however he enjoyed watching hockey, gardening, and planting flowers. His most special time was with his grandchildren, and chasing the donkeys at his daughters home. Visitation for Danny will be Tuesday from 3-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 mile). Share memories of Mr. Popov at his guest book.
