Edward Werner died Friday, October 3, 2008, at Nightingale Nursing Home in Warren, Michigan, at the age of 85. Mr. Werner was born March 21, 1923 in Hamtramck Michigan, to the late Constanty and the late Alexandra (nee: Szczepankowski) Werner. Mr. Werner proudly served in World War II in the Navy on the destroyer USS Wilson and enjoyed attending several reunions with his fellow veterans. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and most importantly spending time with family and friends. Mr. Werner retired from Detroit Diesel were he worked as a job setter for many years. Beloved husband of the late Stella. Dear father of Tom (Kim) Werner. Also survived by two grandchildren, Michael, and Savannah. Funeral services will be Thursday 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Weinzierl officiating. Visitation is Wednesday from 3-9 pm. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.
