

Ernest S. Hallman, age 88 of Warren, died Thursday, August 28, 2014 at home. He was born August 4, 1926 in Detroit, son of the late August and the late Mary (nee: Piotrowski) Hallman.With thanks & praise from a grateful nation, we pay homage to Ernest for his service to our country as a sailor in the United States Navy. A period which spanned over 22 years, he was an integral part of the conflicts during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Ernest was also quite proud and honored to be part of the Knights of Columbus, the fraternal order which saw him earn the distinction of 4th Degree Knight.Ernest was the loving cousin of James P. (Yolanda) Klein and their children, James Paul (Laura) Klein, Kristen (Hans) Kasprick, and Jennifer (Harley) Wilson. Also surviving are his cousin, Cynthia Stefan and her children, Heather Stefan and Christopher (Kim) Stefan. Visitation for Ernest will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd from 3-9 pm, with a 7pm Knights of Columbus Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd.) in Warren. He will lie in state on Wednesday from 9:30 am until time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Pio of Pietrelcina Catholic Church (formerly St. Athanasius), 18720 E. 13 Mile Rd. in Roseville. Interment, with full Military Honors, will take place at 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 4th at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.Please share memories of Ernest at his memory book.
