Florence was the beloved wife of the late Edward Joseph Strucinski, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, devotion, and cherished memories. After meeting at a wedding in 1951, their love story quickly blossomed, and they were married on November 8, 1952. Together they built a home filled with warmth, faith, laughter, and unwavering support for their family.
She was the loving and devoted mother of Cindy (Tony) Corsi, Dennis (Karen) Strucinski, Dan Strucinski, Edward (Debbie) Strucinski, Scott Strucinski, and Andrea Strucinski. Florence’s greatest joy in life was her family. She poured her heart into raising her children, always offering gentle guidance, steady encouragement, and unconditional love.
Her cherished legacy as “Nana” continues through her fifteen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored beyond measure. Through warm embraces, thoughtful words, and treasured family gatherings, Florence made every child feel deeply loved. Her home was a place of comfort, celebration, and togetherness, especially during holidays and special occasions. She was the loving sister-in-law of Betty Cichoski and the dear sister of her four late siblings.
Born on June 20, 1934, in Detroit to her parents, Frank and Sophie Cichoski, Florence graduated from Pershing High School. She was a true go-getter who embraced life fully and joyfully.
Florence was a gifted artist and an outstanding painter, seamstress, and crocheter. She lovingly raised African violets and was exceptional in the kitchen. Her golumpki, spaghetti sauce, famous banana nut bread, Swedish apple cake, and farmer’s cheese cheesecake were family favorites that will long be remembered. She also found great joy in her work as a card exchanger for American Greetings, where her warmth and dedication shone brightly.
Florence will be remembered for her kind heart, quiet strength, and the deep love she carried for those around her. She lived a life centered on family, compassion, creativity, and devotion, leaving an enduring imprint on all who were blessed to know her.
A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 5830 Simon Street, Detroit, MI. Memorial donations are appreciated to the Shriner's Hospitals for Children-Chicago, shrinerschicago.org
