Frank R. Edwards, age 86 of Roseville, died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at St. John Macomb Center Hospital in Warren. Frank was born August 24, 1923, the son of the late Moody and the late Lula Edwards. Franks passion was carpentry, building and working on numerous exhibits and displays. Frank was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Warren. For 56 years Frank was a faithful member, and served as an usher. He also contributed to the many projects there. He put in many hours of hard work for their Vacation Bible School, making toys that are not only treasured by many, but especially by his grandchildren. Frank was a proud member of the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters, participating in 7 of their conventions for his district council. Also, he wrote articles for their column Hammer Time, his favorite publication. Frank was also the President of the Retired Member of Carpenters Local 114. Frank didnt even have to run for the position, everyone automatically elected him for the honor. Besides, there would be no disputing this decision, as everyone wanted him to be the president whether he liked to or not! When Frank wasnt busy doing carpentry work, which wasnt often, he would be catching up on the latest Detroit Tigers news. He watched every game he possibly could and listened to the games on the radio when a television wasn't nearby. Frank also loved to play his organ. He was a dedicated fan of Big Band Music, passing on his love of music to all of his family. Frank was the happiest man in the world. His family and friends knew that he woke up whistling everyday. He loved life, loved his family, and absolutely loved the fact that he had great grandchildren. Frank will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially by his dear family. Frank was the beloved husband of Shirley. He was the loving father of Charlotte (Don) Freeman, Robert, David, and Lloyd (Elaine). Dear grandfather of Cheryl (Bernie) Hung, Adam (Jennifer) Rhodes, Michelle Garcia, Jason, Frank (Sherry), and Elizabeth (Denis) VanDoorne. Great grandfather of Ashley, Kayla, Jordan, Michael, Roberto, Michael, Alexandria, Makayla, Colan, Blake, Azia, Denis, Adrian, Joshua, Ryan, Brandon, Amber, and Nicole. Dear brother of Ruth Heinz. Frank is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews. Visitation for Frank will be held on Wednesday from 3-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 Mile Road). Frank will lie in state on Thursday at 10:00 am until the time of his Funeral Service at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Warren.
