

Frank Joseph Wolak Jr., age 64 and longtime resident of Warren, died Sunday, February 9, 2014 at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren. Frank was born August 8, 1949 in Grayling, Michigan, son of the late Frank J. Wolak and the late Mabel (nee: Bryan) Wolak.Frank spent his early years in Grayling and later moved to Warren where he would graduate from Warren Woods High School. Following Frank's schooling, he worked in the lawn spray and fertilization business. For years, Frank worked for Chem-Lawn and later owned and operated his own lawn spray and landscaping company. Frank owned and operated his business for more than 20 years before going to work for the Center Line Schools as a bus driver. Frank cherished his job driving bus and teaching the young kids to sing along while riding with him. Frank had fond memories of summer camp and would lead the young children on the bus to sing camp fire songs with him.During Frank's life, he held many things near and dear, but none more precious than his wife and children. He always felt his children were a gift, and to spend personal time with them was his own reward. During his children's young and formative years, Frank coached sports and also was very active in his son's Boy Scout activities.Frank also had other hobbies and interest including music... especially Country music and the classics. He was a woodworker and a leather maker, all done by his own hands. Additionally, he was a coach and a fan of sports, whether it was his children's sporting events or following the Detroit sports teams, Frank always enjoyed taking in the many games. Frank loved the outdoors and freedom which led to him and his wife traveling on their Honda Goldwing for their numerous travel explorations. Frank always seemed to travel back to his Northern Michigan Roots and the property in Grayling. Whether fishing or deer hunting with his brother or friends, the woods always held a special place in his soul.Frank is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn, and is the dear father of Heather, Frank III, Shelley, and Melissa Wolak. He is also survived by his dear brother Robert (Carol) Wolak and many loving family members and friends.A Memorial Visitation will be held Saturday, February 15th from 2-5pm with the Memorial Services beginning at 4pm.
