Franklin John Rademacher, Jr., age 83, died November 19, 2019 at Ascension Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan. Frank was born March 12, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Franklin John Rademacher Sr. and the late Phyllis (nee: Seiler) Rademacher.
Frank was raised in Detroit where he attended and graduated from St. Joseph's Catholic High School. As a young man and athlete, Frank excelled at ice hockey and even received an offer to play for the University of Michigan and a tryout with the Detroit Red Wings. He later chose to attend the University of Detroit for their Catholic Jesuit education where he ultimately graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in Commerce and Finance. Along with his schooling, Frank would also serve in the Army National Guard.
Following his education Frank found employment with the Fruehauf Trailer Corporation where he worked from 1963 until his retirement in 1992. After almost 30 years, Frank ultimately retired as the vice-president of marketing for the corporation.
When Frank was not working his family was the center of his life...his core foundation in his life was family and faith. Frank and his wife raised their family in Warren, Michigan centered around love and their devotion to their Catholic faith. The family were parishioners of St. Martin dePorres Catholic Church in Warren since the inception of the church.
Time off from work would also find Frank enjoying many outdoor activities including golf and skiing. He cherished his time at his northern Michigan getaway at Lakes of the North where it seemed Frank was in his element entertaining and playing host to he and his wife's many friends. Quiet time and solitude found Frank enjoying the simple pleasures in life such as his daily read of the newspaper while sipping on his coffee, or simply watching his favorite Detroit Red Wings play a game of hockey. However, if you were able to ask Frank to name his greatest achievement, it would undoubtedly be his pride for his family and grandchildren. Frank will forever be missed by so many that his life touched over the years.
Franklin John Rademacher Jr. was the beloved husband of Johanna (nee: Schaetzl) Rademacher, and was the dear father of Franklin John (Lynne) Rademacher III, Amy Rademacher (Jim Benoit), Nancy (Jeff) Schleich, and John C.
