Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. Rest in peace Ann.

To us Ann was "Tante Anneliese" our aunt in the states. Some of our most colorful childhood memories are connected to her, her husband Jack - our "Onkel Jack" - and James and Michelle, their children. Their visits to us in Germany were something very special, as were their presents at christmas and to our birthdays. Ann was one of our closest relatives, not many left. To our late mother, Anns sister Margot, Ann was not only a sister but one of her closest friends. Our late brother Joschi also had a very special and close relationship to her. It would be an insult to say that Ann was an easy person, for she prefered the simple truth against smooth words. Margo, our sister in law, formed the expression "as tough as nails but with a heart of gold" which catches it pretty good. In that Ann was close to her mother, our grandmother "Oma". We haven't seen Ann for a long time, but whenever we talked on the phone or exchanged emails there was the feeling of a strong connection, of common family values and shared memories. We will miss her. Our condolences go to James and Michelle. We are glad that you could be with your mother in the last time and help her. She was so thankful for that.

Aunt Ann:
Our family will always remember your deviled eggs, which were a staple at all of our holiday gatherings. They were the best!! You always made enough for a small plate to go home with a few lucky 'takers' for the next day. . . or two. The last time you made them was for Christmas Day 2013 at Mark's and my home. They looked great and tasted great, as usual, but you told me that you had so much trouble with 'those damn eggs!!' I guess they weren't peeling right!! Our family will miss those eggs . . . and especially the cook who made them. Rest in peace. Carol

I am saddened to hear of Ann's passing, another of our refund group is no longer with us. I picture Ann, Della & Peggy reminiscing around a table remembering all our meetings where we met at a restaurant, school then Ann's basement sharing forms, stories and laughter. Ann was sure to get the group to gather even after we quit meeting twice a year either at her home or Big Boy's for lunch. Rest in peace Ann, your fight against cancer was handled the same way you handled life, one day at a time. I will honor your life with a luminary at Ferndale's Relay for Life on June 14th.

I met Ann thru the refunders club many years ago. Ann was a very nice lady. I enjoyed seeing her once a month and talking to her. We use to swap refund forms.

What a sad day this is with your passing. I so loved your independent spirit, though it could be frustrating at times. Thank you for the invaluable lessons you taught me and the generosity that you shared. You will truly be missed.
