Genevieve Grabowski

Genevieve "Jenny" (nee: Kowalski) Grabowski, age 90 of Sterling Heights, died Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at Henry Ford Hospice Care Center in Warren. Jenny was born May 26, 1916 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of the late Frank Kowalski and the late Helen (nee: Kurczewski) Kowalski. Jenny is the beloved wife of Henry. Loving mother of Jean (Bill) Czopek, Tom (Kathy), and Judy (Gary) Coppa. Loving grandmother of Michael (Anne) Czopek, Bill (Tracy) Czopek, Tom (Becky) Grabowski, Kim (Steve) Messina, Kris (Elizabeth) Grabowski, and Kevin Coppa. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren. Jenny was raised in Hamtramck and graduated from Hamtramck High School. Mrs. Grabowski worked and retired from Chrysler Motors as a Secretarial Clerk. She resided with her family first in Detroit and then moved to Warren and finally lived for the past 36 years in Sterling Heights. Mrs. Grabowski loved to travel, and take cruises with her husband and the Warren Seniors Group. She and her husband visited Poland and many other locations. She also enjoyed camping at Black Lake with her daughter and son in-law. When she was not traveling she enjoyed helping others she was generous to a fault. Jenny often cared for other family members, and even if the person was not a family member, but was struggling, she was there to help. With all of her generosity and giving, she was still a spend thrift always cutting coupons. Jenny cherished her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Visitation for Jenny will be Friday from 2-9 pm with a evening vigil 7 pm, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 mile). Mrs. Grabowski will lie in State Saturday 9:00 am, until the time of the Funeral Mass 9:30 am at St. Blase Catholic Church, 12151 Fifteen Mile, Sterling Heights.
