Genevieve J. Shaw, age 95 of Warren, died June 27, 2010 at the Autumn Woods Health Care Facility in Warren. She was born on November 5, 1914 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Paul and the late Anna Piusinski. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Genevieve spent her life caring for and nurturing the loved ones she held in such high regard. Having only one child, she absolutely adored her son, Robert who was the apple of her eye. From Robert and his children, the greatest gifts she would come to realize were those found in her precious grandchildren whom she treasured beyond expression. Family meant the world to Genevieve and the moments they shared made for the memories that she held closest to her heart. She leaves a legacy of love that will live on in the lives she touched along the way. On those occasions when she took time to herself, Genevieve possessed a number of talents that did much to express her creative side. Much of it came through the work of her hands, and some of it was quite intricate & meticulous like her hand-painted china plates, her dabbling in decopage, and her creations in crocheting. And like many of the women of her era, she could sew with the best of them. But of all her passions in life, there were two that stood out amongst the rest. One was gardening. She loved to pour herself, and her green thumb, into nurturing the beauty of her yard and garden, which she did with special and tender loving care. Her other and most profound passion was realized through her immense love of animals. Her four-legged friends held a very special part of her heart that was renown to all. Its just another example of what a caring and compassionate person Genevieve was. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will be cherished and remembered by all whose lives she touched. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter. She was the loving mother of Robert (Trisha) Shaw, and the mother-in-law of the late Margaret Shaw. Dearest grandmother of Sandee (Dave) Orzel, and Doug (Pam) Shaw. Devoted great-grandmother of Doug, Zac, Birdie, Alayna, and Lexi. Special friend of Karl Heuer. Visitation for Genevieve will be on Wednesday from 5-9pm, with a 7pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 Mile Rd) in Warren. She will lie in state on Thursday at 10:00am at St. Louise Catholic Church until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are welcomed to the Michigan Humane Society. Please share memories of Genevieve at her guest book.
