

Georgette Jacqueline Lacourciere, beloved wife, mother of two, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024, at the age of 97. She was born on March 1, 1927, to Theodore and Helene (nee Stack) Gingras in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada.
In 1948, Georgette married Jean A. Lacourciere, and together they built a life filled with joy and shared accomplishments. Both Georgette and Jean grew up in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, but later moved to Michigan to start their own adventure. In 1975, the couple realized a dream by opening the Warren Pool Center, a venture they managed with dedication until their retirement in 1984. Their business was not just a means of livelihood but a place where they made lasting friendships and enriched their community.
Georgette was profoundly grateful for her family, which was everything to her. She cherished the times spent playing card and board games with her loved ones, especially enjoying Scrabble with her husband, Jean. Georgette also enjoyed playing Michigan Rummy with Jean, their two daughters, and five grandchildren. These moments of shared laughter and competition were among her most treasured memories. She was always thankful for her family and for the help that was given to her.
A gifted seamstress, Georgette found joy in creating beautiful things with her hands by sewing. The items she would sew was a reflection of her infinite creativity. Her kindness and caring nature touched everyone she met, and others would often say how sweet she was. Georgette will leave a legacy of genuine companionship and heartfelt connections amongst the friends she made along the way, no matter the location.
Georgette will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her sweet demeanor, unwavering support, and the love she shared will be remembered fondly by those whose lives she touched.

Lacourciere; dear mother of Marilyne Petry, and Lorraine (Bill) Ankley; cherished grandmother of Mark Petrykowski, John (Sara) Petry, Brian (Meagan) Ankley, Michelle Ankley, and Kayla (Matt) Loose; proud great-grandmother of Anna, Jack, Lucas, Bruce, Evelyn, and Liam; adored sister to the late Gaetane (Florian) Duchesne; loved by nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass to honor Georgette's life will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 9:30 am at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Parish, located at 31555 Hoover Road, Warren, Michigan 48093. Georgette will lie instate at St. Martin de Porres on Tuesday, beginning at 9:00 am until the time of Mass. Internment at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township following the funeral service.
Georgette's spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, a gentle reminder of her love, kindness, and sweet nature.
