

Gerald T. 'Jerry' Wiggins age 70, a longtime resident of Warren, died November 6, 2011at Henry Ford Hospital in Warren. Jerry was born and raised in Bevier Missouri before migrating to Michigan. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, and later re-enlisted to serve a total of seven years of faithful service to his country.Jerry was employed by Bundy Tubing Corporation for over 26 years before health issues forced his early retirement in 1994. When Jerry was not working he was devoted to his family, country, and God. He loved the outdoors and animals, and when he could, enjoyed tending to his yard, or visiting the local estate sales. Jerry also favored taking long drives in the country as long as the end destination was to one of his favorite eating locations. Sitting around the dinner table enjoying his wife's cooking was always special on Sunday while having the entire family over.Jerry Wiggins was a kind man who enjoyed telling stories and corny jokes. He often spoke of his time in the military and how good the Disabled American Veterans Organization took care of him. However Jerry's greatest accomplishment was his family and grandchildren, whom he adored. He also had a quiet devotion to his God and Creator.Jerry was the beloved husband of Joann (nee: Legree)Wiggins. He is the dearest father of Gerald F. Wiggins, and Jennifer (Chris) Essenmacher, and the loving grandfather of Thomas and Sara. Dear son in-law of Frances (nee: Knapp) and the late John Legree. Cherished brother in-law of Linda (the late Fred) Legree. Honorary grandfather of Joshua. Jerry was predeceased by his mother Zella Tanner, his siblings Josephine (Vern) Rector, Wilma (Gerald) McKinstry, and Tommy (Linda) Wiggins. He is further survived by his special family in Missouri' Peggy (Jim) Cerva & family, Roger (Pam) Rector & family. Jerry was the very special uncle to Brian (Shari) Legree & family, Anthony Legree, and Jeff (Kylie) Legree. Lastly Jerry is survived by his cherished buddy Gunner.Visitation will be held Thursday 3-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common (12 ' mile). Mr. Wiggins will lie in state Friday 10am at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 8129 Packard Ave. in Warren, until the time of the Funeral Service at 11am.
