Geraldine M. Dodge (nee: Sylvester), age 87 of Holly and formerly of Warren, died Monday August 3, 2009 at Canterbury on the Lake in Waterford. Geraldine was born on December 14, 1921 to the late Harry Sylvester and the late Sylvia (nee: Prothero) Sylvester. Geraldine and her late husband William made a memorable journey back in 1981 to LaFeria, Texas to develop a small RV park. They found success in their new business, as it ran in the winter months until 1998. When the summer seasons peaked around the corner, you could spot Geraldine visiting William at Groveland Oaks RV Park in Holly, where he worked as a Ranger and all around maintenance man for 13 years. Being that camping family, they boasted a membership to TTCM (Travel Trail Club of the Mid-West) as well as the Double Dozen RV Clubs from 1969 to 2002. As time followed after Williams passing, Geraldine would travel to the Sunshine State of Florida where she picked up the leisurely sport of Bingo. She brought back this new pastime to Michigan and decided to enjoy it with friends at her residence at Canterbury on the Lake Senior Community. Along with all this, she found her hidden talent of Wii Bowling and never turned down a game of cards. Now that Geraldine has joined William and set up camp with her beloved husband for a peaceful eternity, the Dodge children will carry on and share the wonderful tales of their parents as they continue to travel and camp in their memory. Mrs. Dodge was the beloved wife of the late William for 63 wonderful years. She was the dear mother of James (Nancy), John (Janice), Linda (Art) Jankowski, Harry (Sharon), Donna (William) Rankin, William M. (Marie), and Susan (Patrick) Olsowy. Loving grandmother of 18, great grandmother of 26, and great-great grandmother of 6. Mrs. Dodge was pre-deceased by her son-in-law, Leslie Hooper and her grand daughter, April Wisneski. Visitation for Geraldine will be held on Wednesday from 3-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 Mile Road). A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 am at the Funeral Home. Please share memories of Mrs. Geraldine Dodge at her Guest Book.
