

Gordon Davis, age 74, of Warren, Michigan, died September 12, 2008, at Henry Ford Hospital in Warren. Gordon was born February 16, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan the son of the late Nick Davis and the late Mary (nee: Kirkovich) Davis. Mr. Davis was a great athlete in his days, loved playing baseball, golf, football, and hockey. He was even called up to play for the Boston Red Sox in the 1950s. Gordon attended Hillsdale College for 3 years then met the love of his life and married Donna. The two were married for 51 years before Donna passed in 2006. Mr. Davis worked for his father who started the Davis Collision Shop in 1939 and had moved it from Detroit to the 9 mile and Warren area. Gordon also was a resident of Boynton Beach in Florida, during the winter months. The state of Florida was he would say was Gods Country. He also was an avid golfer and watched the Red Wings and Detroit Tigers every chance he could. He will be remembered by enjoying life to the fullest and spending time with his family and friends since that was the highlight of his life. Mr. Davis is survived by his fiance; Maria Mattingly, and his children; Arlene (Lynn) McBride, and Lisa (David) Brown, his grandchildren; Brandon McBride, Alexandra, and Michael Brown. He was predeceased by his wife, Donna; and his parents Nick and Mary Davis. His service will be held Tuesday at 11 am at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 Mile). Visitation will be held on Monday 2-9 pm with a scripture service at 6 pm. In lieu of flowers donations are appreciated to the American Lung Association. Please share memories at his guest book.
