

Helen Butler, age 86 of Warren, died Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the Autumn Woods Health Care Facility in Warren. She was born on July 7, 1928 in Milburn, Kentucky, daughter of the late Leslie Bryant and the late Eula Mae (nee; Samples) Tackett.For many years, Helen was employed as a clerk in the retail industry. When she wasn't working away from home, she diligently worked inside her home keeping it warm and inviting to all. She was also a self-taught seamstress who was quite adept with her natural talents in sewing. If you needed something mended, Helen was your girl. When it came to some of Helen's special joys in life, they were found in the beauty & fragrance of her favorite flowers, roses and gardenia's,...and" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">...and the magnificence of the male cardinal with its coat of red. Along with her love of cardinals, she was also known for having quite a knack with most animals as well. They were naturally drawn to Helen, and she had a genuine and unique bond with many of God's creatures. And when it came to the things of God, Helen's faith was strong and deep,...and she always held an abiding love for her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. As evidence to that fact, Helen was revered by family, friends and neighbors alike for possessing a very caring and giving nature,...the kind of servanthood that reflected the love that God had placed in her heart. She also had a warm and wonderful sense of humor, and loved bringing joy to the lives of others. She touched many hearts and lives along her journey through life, and leaves a legacy of love that will forever be reflected upon with a smile. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally.Helen was the beloved wife of the late Norman. Dear mother of Dana (Linda) Elliott, Cheryl (Steve) Krausmann, and Mona Butler. Loving grandmother of Shawna and Cory. Sister of the late Tommy Ray and Jesse Tackett. Visitation for Helen will be held on Saturday, September 13th from 5-9pm and Sunday from 2-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. Her Funeral Services will take place at 11:00am on Monday at the funeral home with Pastor James Bostic of the Fellowship General Baptist Church presiding. A Committal Service will precede her burial at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 16th at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan where she will join her beloved Norman.Memorial donations, in Helen's name, are welcomed to either the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, or the Wounded Warrior Project.Please share memories of Helen at her memory book.
