

Henry Eugene Grabowski, age 99, of Sterling Heights, died Monday, March 5, 2012 at his home. He was born September 4, 1912 in Detroit the son of the late Chester and the late Pearl (nee: Antczak) Grabowski. Mr. Grabowski was raised in Detroit and attended Southwestern High School. Later in life he moved to Warren and finally lived for the past 41 years in Sterling Heights. Mr. Grabowski worked for over 47 years for the Rail Road. When he was a young man he quit high school to go to work to support his family. He started working for New York Central Rail Road which later became Amtrak, where he would retire as a yard clerk.When Mr. Grabowski was not working he loved the outdoors, the water and boating. He and his family would camp and travel as much as time would allow. Mr. Grabowski loved to take cruises with his wife and family and also the Warren Seniors Group. He took each of his children and their spouses on a cruise for their 25th wedding anniversary. Henry also visited Poland and many other locations throughout the United States, along with many ports during his cruises. He also enjoyed bowling, and camping at Black Lake with his daughter and son in-law. Henry was also a talented Organist and gifted baritone singer' He sang in choirs and at his church. His quiet time spent at home was surrounded by his late wife and dogs. He loved dogs and they loved him back. Also Henry cherished his grandchildren and great grandchildren.Henry was the beloved husband of the late Genevieve 'Jenny'. Loving father of Jean (Bill) Czopek, Tom (Kathy), and Judy (Gary) Coppa. Loving grandfather of Michael (Anne) Czopek, Bill (Tracy) Czopek, Tom (Becky) Grabowski, Kim Pulinko, Kris (Elizabeth) Grabowski, and Kevin Coppa. Also survived by 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Grabowski will be held Friday from 3-9 pm with a evening vigil 7 pm, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile). Mr. Grabowski will lie in State Saturday 9:00 am, until the time of the Funeral Mass 9:30 am at St. Blas' Catholic Church, 12151 Fifteen Mile, Sterling Heights. Officiating the funeral Liturgy will be Rev. Fr. Randy Phillips.
