

Henry Stanley Sienkiewicz, age 81 of Warren, died Friday, March 31, 2006 at St. John Macomb Hospital Center in Warren. Hank was born January 24, 1925 in Kingston, Pennsylvania the son of the late Stanislaw Sienkiewicz and the late Felixa (nee: Burszewicz) Sienkiewicz. During Hanks young years he was quite the student, winning awards in handwriting using the Palmer Method. Before Hank would graduate high school he joined the United States Army to defend his country during WWII. During his time in the military Hank would serve overseas in the Philippines and also New Guinea. After his service to his country Hank returned to Pennsylvania but never forgot about the one military leave with an Army buddy when he would travel to Michigan and meet his future bride Helen. Hank finished his high school education attaining a General Education Diploma and then married his bride. He went to work for Chrysler Motors and would retire after 25 years as a supervisor. Hank belonged to many organizations He was a member of the Fr. Cotter Knights of Columbus Council 1874 as a 4th Degree Knight, and was the Vice Commander of his Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Detroit. Hank was an avid reader, and enjoyed collecting coins and stamps. He also traveled extensively throughout the United States and to Alaska and Hawaii with his wife. Mr. Sienkiewicz is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Helen. He is the dear father of Barb Hanna, Henry Jr. (Janice), Paul, Eric (Collette), Donna (Carl) Katafiasz, and Sharon (Al) DiSipio. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Mr. Sienkiewicz will lie in state Monday April 3rd 9:00 am at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church until the time of the Funeral Mass at 9:30 am. Officiating the Funeral Mass will be Rev. Fr. Roman Pasieczny. Visitation will be Saturday from 5-9 pm, and Sunday from 2-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 Mile). There will also be a Rosary Service Sunday at 6:30 pm. Burial will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly Michigan on Tuesday. Memorial donations appreciated to St. John Hospice.
