Jackie C. Slone

Jackie C. Slone, 77, of Warren died Monday, February 19, 2007 at St. John Oakland General Hospital in Madison Heights. He was born July 12, 1929 in Pikeville, Kentucky to Curtis and Alma Slone. As a student of Garrett High School, Jackie was a great basketball player. He was awarded at scholarship to University of Kentucky. June 26, 1948 Jackie married the love of his life, Avonell. They started their family in KY, and moved to Michigan in 1952. Jackie retired from Chrysler in 1984 where he had worked as a supervisor. He is a former member of the Masons. He loved to ride motorcycles and bowl. Jackie is survived by his wife of 58 years, Avonell; sons, Jack (Leona) and Curtis (Karen); grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jennifer), Robert, LeAnn (Steven) Power, Sharon, Sarah and Jonathan; great grandchildren, Aaron, Allyson, Sean, Danielle, Daniel and Katelyn; and sisters, Betty Sue (Jimmy) Chaffins and Terena (James) Potter. He is predeceased by his parents, Curtis and Alma. Visitation for Jackie will be held Wednesday 5-9 pm and Thursday 4-9 pm. The funeral service will be Friday, 11:00 am at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover at Common (12 Mile). The service will be officiated by Pastor Don Pedde.
