Curley always had a smile. He made everyone he met feel as if we knew him forever.  Always had kind words! We miss him dearly and we miss playing cards together.

I remember the first time I went out for drinks with the gang. When the waitress took my order I told her I would have a separate tab.  Jimmy looked at me very sternly and said, “ when a lady is in my company she never buys her own drinks.” He said he was old-school and that was just the way it was going to be and that was just the way it was. He was always a gentleman. Many more fond memories…. To many to share. I miss you Jimmy and all the fun we had. I can hear you now in heaven saying… “ha….ha…. I beat you.” With his Three Stooges Curly laugh. Rest in peace my friend. ❤️

I have so many wonderful memories but I will never forget the first time I met Jimmy. I was the manager at the apartment community where he and Kathy resided. He came in my office to pay the rent in cash, I explain to him that we did not accept cash in the office. I know this will be hard to believe but he did get upset and  proceeded to explain to me in a very stern voice that this was United States currency and it says legal tender, which means I have to take it. In my most professional calm voice I explained to him that my company did not allow me to take cash in the office but I could accept a check or money order. He went out of my office mumbling something about his daughter and his son being attorneys and I would be hearing from one of them. I think it was the next day he came back to my office with money orders, and as he was leaving he said, “ if you ever need your car washed bring it down to the car wash on the corner of 8 mile and Gratiot.” When I took my car to the Pointe Eight he wouldn’t hear of me paying. This was the beginning of our friendship, Jimmy made every occasion fun, he had the biggest heart, and generous to a fault . We enjoyed many breakfast’s together and as Jimmy told me....a lady never pays, he was old school, a real gentleman.  I’ll alway’s remember that devilish twinkle in his eye, that big smile and his contagious laugh. I won’t say goodbye Jimmy, I’ll say until until we meet again.

Papa G was definitely a Servant of the Lord and then some. I have no reservations saying that he was an Angel of God on earth.  He was the most loving, compassionate, and generous man I ever known.  He was filled of the Holy Spirit and was a friend and mentor to many as to how one should conduct himself and treat others.  Many many wonderful and funny moments will keep his memory eternal until we all are reunited together again.  Those of us who were most honored to have known and loved Papa G  (and been loved by him) have an exquisite, persuasive, and effective advocate in Heaven for sure.  Papa G - we love you very much  from our hearts in Boston!!!  Get that bottle of Dom ready for our toast to your amazing life, your generous love, and the many laughs you blessed us all with — and I promise not to send that bottle back this time!!!  Xoxoxoxo.
