Jerry J. Beauchemin, age 84, died Monday, March 16, 2015 at his home. Jerry was born September 2, 1930 in Hamtramck, son of the late Harvey and the late Mary Beauchemin. With thanks & praise from a grateful nation, we honor Jerry for his service to our country as a sailor in our great United States Navy. Upon returning to Michigan following his military service, Jerry secured employment with the automotive giant, Chrysler where he worked in their Parts Department as a purchasing agent. With over 37 years under his belt, Jerry eventually sought retirement after extending the utmost in loyal and dedicated service towards the company's success. Since he loved his time at Chrysler, Jerry felt like he never worked a day in his life. For many years, Jerry and Lorraine joined the gaggle of "snowbirds" as they exchanged the cold & snowy winters of Michigan for the warm and sunny climate of Florida. They enjoyed their times in the Sunshine State, never staying in the same place more than once. More recently, their winters were spent in Arizona enjoying the company of family. Jerry was an avid woodworker and crafted many beautiful pieces throughout the years. When Jerry wasn't in the workshop, you'd often find him at the casino giving Ol' Lady Luck a run for her money, always in hopes of the "Big Pot." Whether he was relaxing or crafting, Jerry loved to savor a good cigar. Jerry was the loving husband of Lorraine for 63 years, joining her in holy matrimony on June 28, 1951. He was the beloved father of Allen (Mary), Ken, and the late Jeffrey Beauchemin (who preceded him in death in 1988). Dearest brother of Mike, and the late Harvey. Loving grandfather of Alisia and Shelby. Visitation for Jerry will be held Friday, March 20th from 4-9 pm, with a 6:30pm Rosary Service, at the D.S.
