To all of you that signed Mom's guest book  Thank you. She had a kind spirit, always listening and giving what she could. I guess I admire her for many things but she was truly a humble person. She didnt care so much for winning an argument or making her point known. Mom loved each one of us, despite our faults. She reminds me of someone in the Bible. Not Jesus like you might think I would say. But she was more like her mentor, Mary. Sitting in the wings, knowing her role, and being used by God to nurture her children and those God put in her path. Mom will be missed but she did her job and is now enjoying her eternal reward.

Although I hadn't talked to or seen Mrs. Rudnicki in quite some time there are some special memories of her that I do have. I have been friends with her daughter Jackie since 7th grade. We were both in band together. One year she included me in going to see the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. I enjoyed it very much and that is the only time I have ever gone to see them. She and Mr. Rudnicki also allowed me to move into their home as a teenager while I was going through a rough patch at home with my parents. And then there was the time in 7th grade when I was the cause of Jackie chipping a tooth which I'm sure lead to a visit to the dentist. I remember having to explain myself to Mrs. Rudnicki and apologize as well. And while I'm sure she wasn't too pleased with me at that moment, she didn't come down too hard on me, she forgave me (as did Jackie). That was a lesson well learned for me. Mrs. Rudnicki will certainly be missed. May God bless her and the entire family.

Jackie, With deepest sympathy to you and your family. My heart aches for you; having recently lost my Mother, I know the pain you are going through. It will seem difficult, but you will find comfort in your many memories, the love you have shared and to now know that your Mother is among the Angels. Wishing you Love and Peace.

I met Joan when I was in High School. Joan and John were in charge of the High School Group at Our Lady Queen of all Saints parish. They were amazing teachers which prompted us to help them with the group the year after we graduated in 1976 (a VERY long time ago!). After that, I taught second grade Catechism around the time Joan taught and will always remember her smiling face. Our friendship of nearly 35 years has been wonderful. When our first child was born, we were blessed to have John and Joan as her Godparents. Growing up, our children had a difficult time saying "Mr. or Mrs. Rudnicki" so they became "Aunt and Uncle Nicki". As most friendships do, ours took a back seat to raising our families but whenever we spoke, it was like we just spoke yesterday. A few years ago, John and Joan took us to a sushi restaurant. That was our first (and last) experience with sushi. There must have been 30 different kinds of appetizers on the table, raw and cooked. I didn't try them all--just the ones with shrimp in them. I felt I could handle anything with shrimp whether it was cooked or not. It was a fun experience that we still talk about and will always remember. We have treasured calling Joan (and John) a dear friend and we will miss her tremendously. Our love and sympathy go out to her wonderful family.

Our sincere condolences to John and all Rudnicki family on the loss of my (our) Very Best Friend. She truly gave of herself to our personal and family benefit throughout our close relationship of so many years. There is no reasonable way to fully express our gratitude to her and her family short of our meeting in the next life. We miss you deep in our hearts and our very being.

Patti and family -- my deepest sympathies to all of you. I have several good memories of your mom, but my favorite is prom night, our senior year of high school, when she took a group of us out for dinner to The Sixpence because none of us had been invited to prom. She cared about everyone, kids in particular. God bless!

I only spoke with Mrs. Rudnicki a few times as a young person, whether it was on the telephone or at church. What I will remember the most is that she was always pleasant. Now, that may not sound like a profound memory at first. But in a world where people are quick to act first with impatience or anger, she was singular in her ability to smile and make a person feel comfortable. For me (at that point a 13-14 year old insecure young man), this ability was worth its weight in gold. God Bless you and your family, Mrs. Rudnicki. You will be missed.

My heart goes out to all of you. I find it very difficult to think ahead - my tears are all for the past. It is impossible right now to think of a future without my friend of 45 yrs. Joan was my all-wise, all-knowing, always understanding confidante. I will miss her more than anyone knows.

I have had the privledge of spending precious times with Joan that I will always cherish. I learned quite alot from this wonderful woman and the love she had for her family. I am proud to have been included on her list of important people! Since Joan loved butterflies, I wanted to share this writing- When we have passed the tests we were sent to earth to learn, we are allowed to graduate. We are allowed to shed our body, which imprisons our soul the way a cocoon encloses the future butterfly, and then when the time is right we can let go of it. Then we will be free of pain, free of fears and free of worries...free as a beautiful butterfly returning home to God.. which is a place where we are never alone, where we continue to grow and to sing and to dance, where we are with those we loved and where we are surrounded with more love than we can ever imagine! Dear Gary, Kim and family, Your friends and family will support you in your time of grief with hugs, cards, words of comfort, and prayers for peace. But the "peace that passes all understanding" will come from your Heavenly Father. He knows your loss and He'll guide you through this valley. Hold tight to the hand of Christ. He IS the Comforter.

Gary, Thank you for sharing what a terrific mother you were given. I know you'll miss the daily calls you made. Blessings to you and your family as you work through your grief and loss. May your memories be rich and the legacy your mother left be nurtured and shared with your children and theirs. Bondié beni ou, zanmi mwen!

To everyone who came to the funeral home tonight, thank you so much for all of your wonderful stories and comforting hugs. There were so many people there and I'm sorry for any of you I missed. My mom was such an amazing woman. She suffered so much in the past year and I am so thankful that she is finally at rest with all of her loved ones. But I miss my mom and all of the golden nuggets of wisdom she shared with me. Mostly I miss her hugs and the unconditional love that only a mom can give. I am now a part of the daughters without mothers club and I must say I don't like it very much. Mom was the most generous person that I have ever known. She gave of herself freely without ever expecting anything in return. Not many people are like that anymore. I love you mom and I look forward to the day when I will see you again!!!

Gary, John and Family, Please let me offer my deepest condolences in your lost. Your mother was always very kind to me. When I think back of your mother I think of her in the bleachers at the Fraser Football games. I fondly remember the sound of the cow bell at the home and away football games she would bring every time. What wonderful days! John, Shannon, Teri, Dave and families, our hearts go out to you. Please know that so many of your St. Luke friends are praying for all of you. John and Teri, I met your mom only a few times, but knowing both of you for as long as I have, and the Christian faith you live and display in your daily lives, it speaks volumes to the testament of your mom, to both of your parents. God bless you and keep you all during this difficult time.

I planned on attending the funeral mass for Mrs.Rudnicki this morning but unfortunately due to the weather that isn't possible. She was an absolutely beautiful lady and a most loving mother. As a teacher at Mark Twain I always looked forward to our meetings which were always so enjoyable as she did such a fabulous job raising her children. My condolences to all of you.
