John William Alam

John William Alam, age 79 of Sterling Heights, died Friday, February 27, 2015 at his residence. He was born January 8, 1936 in Buffalo, New York, son of the late Joseph and the late Julia (nee: Yammin) Alam.With thanks & praise from a grateful nation, we pay homage to John for his service to our country during the Korean War. As a soldier in the U.S. Army, John attained the rank of Private First Class as answered the call to duty with honor and distinction. For the sacrifices made and his willingness to stand in harm's way on our behalf, we extend the utmost in posthumous gratitude for his patriotism and bravery.John was the beloved husband of the late Martina. Dear father of Linda (Jay) Gamalski and Joe (Michelle) Alam. Dear brother of Joseph (Joan) Alam. Loving grandfather of J.J. Baas, and great-grandfather of Weston Baas. Cherished brother-in-law of David (Suzie) Druzynski, Diane (Joe) Hobart, and the late Pat Cervini. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A Memorial Visitation for John will be held Sunday, March 1st from 3-6pm, with a 5:30pm Memorial Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. Please share memories of John at his memory book above.
