

John F. Rudnicki(May 6, 1932 - February 27, 2013) John F. Rudnicki, Age 80 of Roseville died Wednesday, February 27 at his home. John was born on May 6, 1932 in Hamtramck, the son of the late Frank and late Mary (nee: Misiukiewicz) Rudnicki. John graduated from Hamtramck High School and studied at Wayne State University for three years after serving with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He married Joan McPike on September 29, 1956 and settled into a successful career as a tool and die maker, eventually retiring from General Motors as a supervisor. John was very active in his kids' activities including teaching Catechism with Joan for over a decade at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Church in Fraser and coaching little league baseball in Roseville Jr. Sports. He was also a passionate gardener and earned his Master Gardner certification from Michigan State University. John and Joan loved to travel across the United States and created a cherished tradition for their family in planning family vacations to Disney World for close to three decades. He was an avid fisherman and spent many hours with his sons teaching them how to catch fish and how not to fight with each other when confined to a small boat :-). John loved barbecuing in his backyard while either reading a good book or listening to a Tiger's game. John was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Joan, and is survived by children, Patti (Chuck) Hornick, Gary (Kim), John (Shannon), Teri Clouse, and Jackie (Glen) Madacki; grandfather of Christina, Nellie, Matthew, Tyler, Sarah, Brittany, Charley, Samantha, Angela, Catherine, Julie, Camilla and Zach. John was also preceded in death by his brother, Edward, and is survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. He is also survived by three members of his extended family, caregivers Becky, Deana and Sue. Visitation for John will be held on Friday, March 1 from 3-9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Road) in Warren. He will lie in state on Saturday, March 2 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Fraser until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Officiating the Funeral Liturgy will be Rev. Fr. Dennis Nowinski.
