Joseph Huber, age 85, died Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at The Virginia House in Harper Woods. Joseph was born February 17, 1924 in Wyandotte, Michigan, the son of the late George and the late Catherine Huber. He grew up in Detroit and like many other dedicated men from the Motor City, Joe was proud to have worked for one of the Big Three as a stock chaser for Chrysler Automotive. Ask anyone who knew Joe and they could tell you he was one funny guy. But more than just funny, he was very witty, never missing a beat. His dry sense of humor may have stumped some, but for his family and friends, he was just being Joe. Joseph was so full of life, enjoying every one of his days. The most important thing in his life was spending as much time as possible with his family and friends. Right up there next to the ones he loved was the place he lovedUp North. He enjoyed traveling around the U.P., especially visiting his own seventh heaven, Tahquamenon Falls, fittingly in Paradise, Michigan. Joe also had quite the sweet tooth. He definitely enjoyed all the candy and cookies anyone had to offer. In keeping with his love of all things sweet, the one favorite food Joe rarely refused was a peanut butter with banana, and sugar sandwich. In speaking of Joes sweet tooth, he was also one tough cookie in other ways. He recovered quickly from any hardships and overcame many obstacles without much trouble. Joe was tough as nails, but when it came down to his core, he had a heart of gold. Although Joe has left his family and friends for now, he has also gone to join his Godson, Carlo Bommarito, who passed away exactly 3 years before Joe, on January 20, 2007. Joseph will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Joseph was the beloved father of JoAnn (Robert) Nemick and Patti (Milton) Gomez. He was the loving grandfather of Michelle, Michael, Jeffrey, and Craig. He was the dear uncle of Frank (Mary) Bommarito, and the late Carlo Bommarito. He was also a devoted friend of Annie Bommarito and brother of the late Carl Huber, and the late George Huber. Memorial visitation for Joseph will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2010, at 10:00 am until the time of his Memorial Service at 12:30 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 Mile Road). Memorial donations in Joseph's name are appreciated to The Virginia House, 18920 Eastwood Drive, Harper Woods, Michigan 48225. Joseph lived at The Virginia House for the past 4 years, sharing one of those years there with his brother, who has since passed 3 years ago. His family will be forever grateful for the unending love and support he received while staying there. Please share memories of Joseph at his Guest Book.
