Joseph Brian Rachwal, age 20 of Warren, died Saturday, July 6, 2019 at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Joseph was born July 31, 1998 in Royal Oak, Michigan, son of Keith and Kathy (nee: Zadrzynski) Rachwal.
Employed as a parking attendant for a valet service, Joe became accustomed to driving many different types of vehicles in effecting his job duties. But for this 20 year old, his favorite engines were the ones that powered his 1972 Chevrolet Nova and his cherished motorcycle. For Joe, each day came with a choice,…whether to fire up the Nova or the crotch rocket,…either way, the ride was bound to be exhilarating.
Joe’s personal time was always precious and meaningful, especially when shared with his brother, Matthew. He loved hangin’ out with Matthew, and together they shared the common passion of working on cars. Like many young guys living in the Motor Capital of the world, cars reigned supreme and Joe’s appetite was one of passion and respect. So when he and Matthew were playing Mr. Goodwrench, Joe was comfortably in a realm he loved.
Along with sharing Matthew’s company, Joe also found immense pleasure in hangin’ with his friends as well. Just on the cusp of adulthood, yet still immersed in the recent joys of his teen years, Joe’s circle of friends provided that sweet release we all come to embrace with those most special in our lives. Joe may have been young, but his memories were rife with the life-enhancing moments enjoyed with the buddies & girlfriends who shared his journey. And this short bio would be terribly remiss if not for mentioning his two other loves in life,…(the late) Chloe, his treasured German Shepherd,…and his precious Pomeranian, Chester. Not only a great friend, Joe was also a devout Fur Daddy to his canine companions. Love just doesn’t get more unconditional than through the passion of a pet, and Joe knew that well.
Like most guys, Joe had his favorites when it came to playing sports,…and golf often filled the bill for him. A sunny day with friends on the course made for the perfect combination, and swingin’ the clubs in search of that elusive Hole-in-One made for some great competition. But the pinnacle of Joe’s sporting moments were those spent on the baseball field, specifically on the mound as the team’s pitcher. A southpaw by birth, his left-handed skills in getting the ball across the plate were near mind-boggling,…and certainly worth the price of admission.
Yet what was priceless was that place in each person’s heart who held Joe close,…a place that will never diminish or fade, but only reflect the beauty and radiance that accompanies each thought and remembrance. Though he leaves us far too soon, it certainly is not without imparting his caring spirit and youthfulness; a verve for life that will keep the memory of him fresh & forever. Joe touched a multitude of hearts and souls in his journey this side of Heaven. May comfort be quickened in knowing that he, now, rests safely in the arms of God.
Joseph was the beloved son of Kathy and Keith Rachwal, and the loving brother of Stephanie, Shelby, and Matthew.
