Joseph Patrick Sawyer

Joseph was an avid hunter, going around the thumb of Michigan to hunt deer and pheasants. He loved to travel, sight seeing all over the United States with his family. The annual Labor Day trip up North was always something he looked forward to, getting to spend time with his sons and their families all together. When relaxing at home he was diligently working in the garage on his farm toys, creating intricate scenes and landscapes or you could find him watching a classic Western movie, anything with John Wayne in it.

Joseph is the beloved husband of 53 years to Joanne Sawyer. The loving father of Joseph (Candice) Sawyer and Matthew (Sheila) Sawyer. The cherished grandfather of Shelley (Heath Bennett) Sawyer, Taryn Sawyer and Joshua Sawyer. He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Patricia Ullmann and Robert “Bobby” Sawyer. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A visitation for Joseph will be held Sunday, August 4, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, Warren, Michigan 48088. An instate will occur Monday, August 5, 2024 from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 AM, 32000 Schoenherr Rd, Warren, Michigan 48088.
