Katherine Lee Huffman

Katherine Lea Huffman, age 71, beloved, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on December 2, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering authenticity. Katherine was born on December 5, 1953, to Anthony and Laura McGurgan.

Though small in stature, Katherine was “tiny but mighty” in every way that mattered: her heart, her spirit, and her determination touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. For 28 years, Katherine worked as a dedicated truck driver, a career that showcased her grit, independence, and unmatched work ethic. Her fellow drivers knew her by a name that suited her perfectly, Lady Hawk, a call sign that reflected both her sharp spirit and her soaring heart. Caring came naturally to her; giving was simply who she was. Katherine never hesitated to show up for others. Her love for animals, especially her cats, was a defining part of her life. She had a gift for nurturing, whether it was a pet, a person, or even a dream she hoped to grow. She adored flowers and often talked about wanting to start a garden of her own someday, envisioning it blooming in her favorite color: purple. Katherine enjoyed the simple pleasures of life with extraordinary enthusiasm. She had impeccable taste in everything, including food, clothes, jewelry, or the little things that caught her eye. She loved movies, especially action films like the John Wick series, and filled her home with music that reflected her vibrant personality. In the kitchen she was always trying new recipes and treating herself to new cookware or gadgets. She especially loved cooking seafood, turning every meal into a moment to savor.

Katherine is the beloved wife of the late Bobby Huffman. The dear sister of the late Maryann McGurgan and Antoinette (Terry Hunt) McGurgan. The proud aunt of Liam Hunt and Samantha Hunt. She is also survived by many other extended family members and friends.
