Lawrence’s passion for all things transportation was a defining feature of his life. From classic cars to intricate model trains, he had a deep love and unmatched knowledge of vehicles of all kinds. Whether watching the car show with his grandchildren or sitting behind a model railroad, he found joy in the mechanical beauty and stories of the past. Lawrence was a proud supporter of The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, places that reflected his reverence for innovation and history. He found inspiration in their preservation of America’s mechanical and cultural milestones and contributed to their mission whenever he could. An avid reader, Lawrence loved books on history, engineering, transportation, and beyond. He believed that learning was a lifelong journey and took great pleasure in sharing his knowledge with friends, family, and anyone curious enough to ask.
Lawrence is survived by his beloved daughters Laura (Christopher) McNair and Amy (David) Stromske. His cherished grandchildren Patrick (Alexys Starnes), Lauren, and Lilly. His dear siblings Ed (Judy) Biskner and Mary (Russ) Groff. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years Barbara Ann Biskner, his parents Lawrence and Therese, and his siblings Bernie (Linda) Biskner and Stephen (Elizabeth) Biskner. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends.
