Libby was born on March 16, 1948 in Charlotte, North Carolina to her parents Ernest and Barbara Wyatt.
Family and friends were her greatest achievement. She will be remembered as an astounding friend to everyone she met, and she never met a stranger. The embrace of her hug meant friendship and love for life. She was a faithful follower of God and loved her church family dearly.
She was very much into genealogy and was exceptionally versed in the history of her family. Libby loved taking pictures and capturing cherished memories.
She loved decorating for every season and holiday. Her favorite was Christmas, enjoying the decorations, lights, angels and her collection of Santa Claus’. She never missed a birthday, always sending out handwritten and often homemade cards.
Libby worked as a beautician for over 30 years and in her later years she worked at and retired from Lowe’s Home Improvement.
Libby also enjoyed the adventure of the road and open air; she and her husband John would often enjoy going out on trips on their motorcycle.
She is survived by her son Jay (Samantha) Goodnight, stepdaughter Vanise Goodnight, stepson Craig Goodnight, grandson Johnathan Goodnight, brother-in-law Steve Letterman and Aunt Eleanor Grayson.
She was preceded in passing by her husband of 49 years, John Goodnight, who passed in 2021, her parents Ernest and Barbara Wyatt and sister Rena Letterman.
Friends may visit the AH Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, Warren, MI 48088 for a memorial visitation on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 11:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. with a memorial service scheduled for 4:00 P.M.
