Loretta Dail, age 83 of Gladwin, and formerly a longtime resident of Warren for over 35 years, died on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Edna Mae's Leisurely Living Nursing Home in Gladwin. Her parents, the late Linzzie and the late Lola (nee: Baldridge) Smedley, welcomed their daughter into the world on December 26, 1925 in Clearfield, Kentucky. Loretta was one of the 12 children that was sent to bless their lives, and what a special gift she was on the day after Christmas. On February 1, 1946, Loretta's life was wonderfully changed when she took that matrimonial walk down the aisle with the love of her life, her beloved Frasher. Together, the two enjoyed a loving marriage and the blessings of raising 7 children. From those children came the most precious blessings of all, Loretta's grandchildren! She loved her grandkids immensely and lived for the moments of joy and pleasure that they built together. For the grandkids, coming to Grandma's house always meant that there was a Pepsi to be found in the closet, and some Reese's treats tucked away in the fridge. And isn't that what going to Grandma's is all about for a kid? And just like most other Grandma's, Loretta sure made a hit in the kitchen, too. Perhaps the most renown fares she'll be remembered for were her Hot Dog Chili and her scrumptious Chocolate Cakes! She took good care of them here on earth, and she now watches over them in Heaven. Loretta's other passion was music. She loved listening to her gospel tunes, and anything that came from the golden pipes of Johnny Cash. It was all about the music that soothed the soul of this good, christian woman. Loretta had a devout faith in God and did her utmost to pass on that legacy to everybody she knew and loved. To quote her children, she was a "good Christian" 24/7, and to look into her eyes was like "seeing an angel." Loretta was a longtime member of Van Dyke Baptist Church in Warren, Michigan. Beloved wife of the late Frasher Fuller Dail. Loving mother of Larry (Marilyn), Ronnie (Maggie), Connie (Harold) Reiterman, Claudia (Dan) Goszczynski, Tim (Christine), James, and David (Michelle). Dearest Grandmother of Danny, Roger, Lisa, Tony, Tom, Cyndie, Patti, Stacy, Chevon, Danielle, Derek, Candy, Wendy, Christopher, Lindsay, Andy, Erin, Lauren, Colton, Trisha, Erica, and Brandon. Also surviving are 18 great-grandchildren. Sister of Linzzie Smedley and Watress Hayes. Visitation for Loretta will be on Saturday from 5-9pm, and on Sunday from 2-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. Her Funeral Service will be held at 6pm on Sunday at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Michigan. Memorial donations are appreciated to Edna Mae's Leisurely Living Nursing Home, 2250 McClure Cemetery Road, Gladwin, MI 48624. Please share memories of Loretta at her guest book.
