Margaret A. Dunfee, age 64 of Eastpointe, died Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. She was born in Detroit on March 1, 1945, the daughter of the late James and the late Ruth (nee: Hansen) Gee. Primarily a homemaker and Mom, Margaret did spend some time in the workforce some years ago. She was the familiar face behind the bar at the Mariner's Boat Club in Harrison Township. Amidst slingin' the shots and passin' the beers, her life changed one fateful day when a certain "sexy sailor" came walking through the door by the name of Michael Tims, the man who became her life partner until her passing. Margaret was a woman with an array of interests, one of which was traveling. She loved to visit warmer climates and found great delight in traveling abroad. Some of the places she visited were China, Thailand, England and Scotland. But she also enjoyed much of what Michigan had to offer as well. She loved the outdoors and, for many years, was an avid deer hunter. She also enjoyed boating and lived for those moments with Michael on their 27ft Sea Ray. The boating fun took on even greater enjoyment with each visit she made out to the Conger Bay Boat Club in the St. Clair Flats. Being a member of the "Island Club," Margaret made lots of wonderful memories with her nautical mates, especially at the infamous pig roasts. Of course, being a part of the Gee family included an appreciation for card games, one of her favorites being the Michigan renown, Euchre. She could lay those cards down with the best of them! Her gaming interests also included dabbling with video poker, and tackling those one-armed-bandits at the casino. But perhaps her greatest passion was her love of animals. Whether tame or wild, she had a unique and genuine care for all of her furry friends. Especially precious was her dog, Buddy, who already misses her immensely. Margaret's life touched many hearts, all of which who will remember her lovingly and treasure her eternally. Margaret leaves to cherish her memory her son Donny, and her loving companion of 25 years, Michael Tims. Dear sister of Tim (Sandra) Gee, Daniel (Cindy) Gee, and James (Joyce) Gee. She was preceded in death by sister Patti Miller. Arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. Please share memories of Margaret at her guest book.
