Margaret P. Hall, age 87 of Warren, died on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at the Autumn Woods Health Care Facility in Warren. She was born on May 3, 1923 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Peter and the late Rose (nee: Felber) Helfenstein. With thanks & praise from a grateful nation, we pay homage to Margaret for her service to our country during World War II. As a nurse in the U.S. Army, much of her tour of duty was spent in the Panama Canal region where her expertise and knowledge made a lasting impact on numerous lives. We honor Margaret for the sacrifices made and for her part in supporting and caring for her fellow patriots as they fought to protect the freedoms & liberties we enjoy today. Long after the war, and throughout her life, those who knew Margaret will attest to what an incredible "caregiving spirit" she possessed. Always thinking of others, and there to lend a hand where needed, her life was truly an exemplification of the profession to which she was called. She was also a woman who was cloaked with strength, confidence, and a "take charge" spirit...just further attributes and defining characteristics of this unique and compassionate daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and nurse. Along with being an "in command" type of woman, Margaret also knew the pleasures of those precious, personal times where she could be free of the decisions & demands, and answer the call of her creative side. A quiet passtime would often find her dabbling in one of her two favorite needle crafts, crocheting or knitting. Of all the examples of her creative expressions, the afghan's she produced were truly works of art. Margaret possessed a sporty side as well. In her earlier years when she lived in Pittsburg, she was one of that city's biggest sports fans around. In a city where sports has always reigned supreme, Margaret enjoyed the time she spent there and the excitement she found in supporting her hometown heroes, no matter the venue. Any time she could be with family and friends was special to her, and the legacy of love she leaves behind will forever be a wonderful memory for those whose lives she touched. Margaret was the loving daughter of Peter and Rose, her beloved parents who preceded her in death. She was the dear sister of Florence, Eugene, and the late Robert. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation for Margaret will be on Friday, July 23rd from 3-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 24th at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Pastor Bill Lawrence. Please share memories of Margaret at her guest book.
