Marie Elizabeth Smith

Marie Elizabeth Smith (nee Stromske), age 78 of Warren, died Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Arbor Inn Assisted Living Center in Warren. She was born on June 10, 1936 in Detroit, daughter of the late Edward and the late Josephine (nee: Sajdak) Stromske.In sharing the story of Marie, there just has to be special mention of the passion she held for the Detroit sports teams,...especially for her beloved Tigers & Red Wings. Between her Boys of Summer and her Boys in the Winged Wheel, she was well-entertained by her sporting pleasures. Another favorite pastime was enjoyed with each trip she made to the casino. Marie loved giving Ol' Lady Luck a run for her money, and those one-armed-bandits the exercise of their lives. From her more interactive side, Marie found great enjoyment and fulfillment through her membership in the St. Malachy Women's Club. Possessing a strong and abiding faith, her association with these dynamic women of God provided her immense joy and strength in her walk with the Lord.Marie was the beloved wife of the late Lee. Dear mother of Deborah Furby, and the late Linda Gauthier. Beloved sister of Henry (Dona) Stromske, Jeanie (Russ) Gordon, the late George Stromske, the late Joey Stromske, and sister-in-law of Loretta Stromske. Loving "gram" of Michael, Todd, Kim, Renee and Carrie. Great grandmother of 8 and great-great grandmother of 2.Visitation for Marie will be held on Wednesday from 4-8pm, with a 7:30 pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren. She will lie in state Thursday 10:00 am until time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 am at St. Faustina Catholic Church in Warren. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township where she will join her beloved, Lee. Memorial donations are welcomed to the Capuchin's, 1820 Mt.
